How do you like Gothic makeup? During my late teens, this particular makeup look was my to-go choice. The time of the day and the occasion never mattered to me because nothing could be more important than black eyeliner. My makeup taste has drastically changed since my late teen. I've been a loyal fan of matte, nude shades and simplicity. However, I still like to return to one of my favorite makeup looks – this stunning silver and black drama.

If black eyeliner is your makeup product of choice, and you have a pair of false eyelashes and shimmering silver eyeshadow in your collection, you may want to try this stunning eye look yourself. All you need to get the look is to follow this in-depth tutorial I've prepared. Just follow the steps, and you'll reach the desired look. Let's start.

How to Create a Stunning Goth Eye Look?

1. You need to start your makeup with an eyeshadow primer. Apply a tiny bit of a product on your eyelids and smudge it with a synthetic brush or your ring finger. This product will ensure the longevity of your eye look.

2. Sharpen your favorite black eye kohl (we need it to be well-prepared). Start drawing a wing-like shape on the outer corner of your eyelid. This shape will become a suitable base for a black matte eyeshadow. With the help of a small synthetic brush blend it out the eyelid.

3. Next, use black matte eyeshadow and apply it on top of the pencil with a small eyeshadow brush. For better, smoother results, we need to blend the 'transition' between the winged shape and the skin.

4. Move on to the inner half of the eyelid and apply a shimmering silver eyeshadow. With a small eyeshadow brush blend the transition between two colors for a dramatic smoky effect.

5. Use a black eyeliner pencil to line your upper and lower waterlines. This makeup technique is called highlighting. It adds intensity and depth to the eyes. Just what we need for a Goth eye look!

6. Black eyeliner time! Line your eye with your favorite black eyeliner. I used Liquid Ink by Essence to create my wing. For the lower eyelid, I used black eye kohl and a synthetic brush to create a wing-like shape on the bottom of my eyes.

7. For extra drama, add some false lashes. I used very natural-looking ashes, but you can pick up something more dramatic! Finally, add some highlighter to your inner corners and under the brows. And the Goth eye look is done!

Final Thoughts

To wrap up today's makeup tutorial, I would like to give you a few more tips on how to pull off this Goth look. Dramatic makeup demands well-prepared skin and a smoothly-applied makeup foundation. So, before creating this look, make sure to follow your skincare routine and invest in a good foundation. Another little tip is to use high-pigment, long-lasting eyeshadows. A high-quality eyeshadow will make your goth eye makeup look great all day long! And, for the lips, you can either go simple and neutral or create even more drama. I kept my lip look simple and applied a muted purple-gray lipstick.

By following the step-by-step tutorial outlined above, you can achieve a stunning, dramatic Goth look that is perfect for everyone with a spicy soul. Remember to prime your eyes and use high-pigment eyeshadows to get the best results. Experiment with different eyeshadow shades and makeup techniques to create the perfect goth eye makeup look for you!

Lots of love,
Liz
